Great to connect with everyone, it feels like it’s been a while.
We’re so excited to be able to bring series 3 of Destination Happiness to your screens starting on the 7th. Many of you may not be aware that we are a tiny self-funded independent production company based in regional Australia with a passion for putting positive stories on TV reducing stigma around mental health. We aim to inspire with uplifting stories of people rising above adversity and provide a toolkit of strategies that may make a small difference in our viewer’s lives.
We’re very proud of what we have achieved so far but won’t deny that this hasn’t been without an amazing team of volunteers and the generosity of some amazing companies who also believe in our project.

The Streets Barber – Nas Sobhani
The Streets Barber Shop is a modern take on an old world community barbershop. One of its resident barbers is Nas Sobhani otherwise known as The Streets Barber.
Nas inspires us with his back story of moving to Australia, and rising above drug addiction to find meaning and purpose in his life by offering haircuts for the homeless on the streets of Melbourne. We hope you’ll be as inspired as we were seeing the power of a simple haircut.
Happy Mind
Our resident clinical psychologist Chris Mackey discusses the PERMA model as developed by the father of positive psychology Professor Marty Seligman as a blueprint for happiness.
Happy Travels
You literally feel as if you are on the edge of the world when you travel to Naiko Retreat on the Fleurieu Pensinsula in South Australia. The breathtaking scenery is complimented by the eco-luxe comfort, and opportunity to totally disconnect from the whirlwind of your fast-paced life. We hear about yoga teacher Dee’s inspiring journey through chronic health to wellness and reflect upon how we might take the solitude of Naiko back to reality with us.

Happy Pets
This week we take you to Hope Springs Eternal Pet Rescue whose mission to help dogs have a better life is evident from the moment you arrive. Their Cuddles and Co program is bound to touch your heartstrings delivering cuddly lap dogs to the elderly for the day. Their pay it paw-ward pet emergency fund that pays vet bills for families that can’t afford these sudden expenses will get an unexpected surprise when our cameras roll thanks to Petstock Assist.
Random Acts of Happiness
Our positive energy host Adamo Dibiase takes to the streets to give out beautiful bouquets from Peony and Weasel in our first random act of the series.
Happy Homes
Villawood (in partnership with GenU) showcase the first display home in the country specifically designed to make life easier and more accessible for people in wheelchairs. The all abilities house has been a boon for families wanting ideas or solutions for housing design when mobility is an issue.
Happy Finances
Morris Finance know that one key to happiness is having your money matters in order. This year we introduce the Happy Finances segment. Angie’s gives money tips to make life that little more affordable.
Happy Eating
The infectiously exuberant Lola Berry brings wholesome yumminess to our screens this series. This week Lola and Angie make delicious Lemon Pie Bites.

Happy Bodies
Rachel Parker, Founder of Ocean Mind was inspired to start the therapeutic not-for-profit surfing program for teenagers struggling with challenges after being diagnosed with bipolar as a teen and going on to work as a youth worker. The power of the volunteer and the healing quality of the surf come together to provide a therapeutic space for teens facing mental health issues, disability or social isolation.
