Daylesford has to be one of my favourite places to visit in Victoria. The beauty and the serenity of this gorgeous town always calms me down and forces me to walk a couple of paces slower. So when your wound up, tense, overworked, stressed, totally wired or just plain tired, this is a great place to reboot.
So the gals and I thought we’d take a few days at The French House, a gorgeous and luxurious cottage that sleeps up to 8 people and has that gorgeous Frenchy feeling that us girls seem to love.
The Fresh House has everything you need for a weekend in, with an amazing farmhouse kitchen, a cosy wood-heater, spa, tennis court, gardens, views…. In fact, the only problem is, you may not want to leave.
But, if you can drag yourself off that deliciously comfortable sofa and away from your glass of pinot, there is more to explore in Daylesford.
Paul Bangay’s gardens are a sight to behold. You almost feel as if you’ve stepped into another world walking through his immaculate grounds. Paul has become globally famous for his landscape designs and to stroll around, you can see why. Paul likes to work with timeless and classic designs and the result a a beautiful elegance that is quite enchanting to step into.
Daylesford is such an interesting town to explore with amazing food, galleries, walking tracks, vineyards, historic buildings, mineral springs and an endless stream of captivating places and people to see. So much in one place, you’ll never be lost for something to do.
