Shannon Harvey’s story is inspiring. At 24 she was struck down with an auto-immune disease that threatened to shut down her organs or even leave her wheelchair bound. Shannon’s own immune system was attacking her and she was becoming more unwell by the day. It was at this point, Shannon’s investigative skills as a journalist […]
Whilst we mostly try to present an outward sense of happiness to the world, the truth is, most people in their lives go through ups and downs. Sometimes there will be a very evident reason as to why we feel sad or depressed - a break-up, losing someone you love, work or financial stress. Other times, you can be travelling through life quite uneventfully and boom – you fall down emotionally, it can hit you out of nowhere.
Every individual will handle this differently, some better than others. The best thing that you can understand when you’re feeling down is that you are not on your own. There are so many people that have been where you are and found their way out – it’s just a matter of finding your path. The yellow brick road is not for everyone, you might have to scale a few fences, dig through some trenches and navigate some tricky terrain, but you will get there.
At Destination Happiness our mission is to hunt down real people with real stories and share what has worked for them in their quest for a happier life. We are drawing from both my personal experience and the experiences of people I have met along the way who have overcome tough times. If I can sort of steal a line from the Sixth Sense - I see happy people. All the time, here, there, everywhere. Walking around like regular people.
Let’s get real, get to work and get happy peeps xxx

There wouldn’t be many us who haven’t run a critical eye over our own body and wished something was a little smaller, or bigger, firmer, more tanned, longer….. the list of defects can go on and on. Whilst some of us can walk away from the mirror unperturbed by what we have seen, others can […]
Aussie Helpers is a wonderful organisation, our farmers are some of the hardest working people in our country and from time to time, they do it tough, really tough, and need a helping hand. This is where Brian and Nerida Egan step in and together with a group of generous volunteers they roll up their […]
