Current challenge in life: not losing my essence when I’m caught in the busyness of life. I find when I’m juggling motherhood, work, being there for my family and friends and just the general craziness of life, it’s so easy to not make time for the things that really make me tick.
Favourite memory: My wedding day…feels cliche but it really was. It was in Lorne at Qdos Art Gallery. I guess I expected it to feel controlled and formal, but it felt incredibly relaxed and genuine – l really felt like I was just totally me.
Everyone around me seemed so full of life and joyful. I guess it could have been all the Moet we drank before the ceremony. In fact, we were so relaxed that my mum wore two different shoes by accident
My happiness is: Made of moments such as smiles on babies’ faces, belly laughs, the energy I get from performing, my husband cooking dinner with music on and a glass of wine. I could on and on…
Most inspiring person: I worked at the Starlight Foundation entertaining very sick children in hospital and I think those children and their families inspired me more than anything. The resilience was out of this world.
I felt, going into the job, I was there to make the kids happy, but in reality it was so often the reverse. They would have me in stitches. It was hard to believe they were in a hospital, often with a terminal illnesses, but they were so full of life and joy. They absolutely lived in the moment.
Favourite quote: “In a gentle way you can shake the world”. Ghandi
A song that moves me is: I’m still haunted by my final performance as the lead role in the musical Sweet Charity. The last note I sang in the song “I’m the bravest individual I have ever met”, came out as a strange explosion from my vocal chords as I threw my hands up in the air triumphantly. It moves me – but not in a good way (laughs).
My happy place is: Family beach house in Lorne or on the stage.
My little secret: My thumbs look like big toes (see photo).
