Tasmania has a rich and colourful history, something that was not lost when the creators of MACq01 built this beautiful hotel on the working docks of Hobart’s Old Wharf.
MACq01 is luxurious, with beautiful views, immaculately decorated rooms an amazing restaurant and a vibe that makes you feel like you have stepped well out of the norm. But MACq01 goes that little bit further than your everyday hotel in that it tells a story. Actually 114 stories to be exact, with every room dedicated to a tale to tell from Tasmania’s history.
At MACq01, myself and the team learned of some amazing characters that contributed to the colourful past of the Apple Isle. From Black Louis to Lula Now Chinn, some amazing research has gone into the heritage of Tasmania to create the stories of how the state came to be what it is today.
The amount of attention to detail that has gone in to creating this story telling hotel is astounding. With mementos from the past at every turn, you truly feel like you’ve stepped into another dimension. Even the lifts tell you a story!
MACq01 is certainly experience, take a tour of the hotel or the surrounds in Hobart, sit in the lounge and take in the amazing water views and boating activities or just soak up the opulence of your room…. any way you like to spend your time at MACq01 is an adventure!
