Dr Jane has long been a fan of Wes Eggs, so when she suggested we do a story on Wes and his lovely ladies, we were all in!
The story of Wes and his chickens goes way back to when he was 9 years old and looking to make a few dollars. After some discussion with his grandfather, it was agreed chooks were the answer! And there Wes’s love affair with his girls began.
Fast forward to today and Wes is living the dream… Along the way, he found one more special girl of the human kind, her name is Mandy, and they have three boys Ted, Mack and Duke who help out mum and dad on the farm.
The chickens at Wes Eggs are some lucky ladies, they are treated like the princesses they are, allowed to roam, scratch and forage to their heart’s content. And in return, they produce some of the finest eggs you’ll find anywhere.
Protected by some loyal and fierce alpacas and housed in solar powered mobile hen houses, Wes’s chickens are safe, healthy and free to come and go as they please. Sounds like a great life to me! And Wes’s passion for the chickens also extends to the land, with his methods allowing his pastures to rest and rejuvenate as his mobile houses relocate through cycles.
